After 22 years at Getty Oil Company and Texaco,
Dr.Rasey left ChevronTexaco as a Senor Geophysicist and Risk Specialist in May 2002. He joined WiserWays LLC as a VP and Solution Provider to consult in:
- Oil & gas risk analysis,
- Portfolio optimization,
- Decision making under uncertainty,
- Financial and business process automation,
- Spotfire data visualization application development, and
- Microsoft Excel, Access, VBA, ASP.Net custom applications.
Dr Rasey developed Texaco Exploration’s worldwide Prospect Inventory which ChevronTexaco adopted after the merger. With the inventory, he developed an efficient frontier portfolio analysis process to assist in Texaco upstream investment decisions.
He established and led risk Risk Committee and Portfolio Team of Texaco Frontier Exploration Department and Central Exploration Departments from 1990 to 1996. He participated in geologic and financial evaluation and investment recommendations of over 600 prospects in over 50 basins around the world.
He developed many of the departments risk analysis tools and methodologies. One of note was StarPort for Texaco Exploration for risked economic analysis of multi-prospect investment opportunities. StarPort also automated the preparation the division’s Strategic Plans and was used from 1992 through 2001
